Forecast Discussion

High pressure centered over the eastern Gulf coast states will supply warm and humid air over the next few days. Today was dry but instability increases tomorrow and Friday so we'll have scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms develop.

A cold front moves toward us from the northwest Saturday. That front will move through Saturday morning but there will be enough unstable air left behind to generate a few showers and thundershowers Saturday. Sunday and Monday look fantastic as temperatures drop a little and the humidity drops a lot and we remain dry.

Tropical storm Cristobal is currently in the Bay of Campeche and is expected to move north and make landfall as a tropical storm along the central Louisiana Coast late Sunday night. Cristobal's remnants will get picked up by a cold front and head toward the Ohio Valley early next week. This will bring a return to typical summer weather.
