Wet weather returns in force for early next week. After the rain, it’s going to get quite cool again for the middle part of next week.

Forecast Discussion

High pressure is dominant over the eastern part of the United States. It will provide fantastic weather this evening through Sunday. There will be additional high clouds entering the picture for the weekend, although we think thicker clouds hold off until Sunday night.

The increase in cloudiness will be preceding an active cold front that will be approaching from the west early next week. The Gulf of Mexico appears poised to provide abundant moisture in advance of the front, and we expect rain to increase on Monday, with the heaviest rainfall coming late Monday into very early Tuesday morning.

After the front swings through Tuesday, clearing should commence after early rain diminishes. Noticeably cooler weather will follow in behind the front, delivering the coolest temperatures thus far this fall for the Wednesday-Thursday timeframe. Skies will turn mostly clear as the coolest air arrives.
