Warm to Rain to Chilly
February ended with the warmest weather since Nov 10-11. That's NOT a signal to retire coats for the season. A front moves through from the northwest early Monday. We have the slight chance of a passing evening shower, the steadier rain beginning around midnight. Monday has morning rain. High temperatures Monday will be at sunrise with steady or falling temperatures after that. Tuesday is chilly with increasing evening clouds and rain returning late Tuesday night into Wednesday. Even colder weather is expected at the end of this week.

Forecast Discussion
A warm front raced north today allowing warmer air in to the Carolinas, but a cold front arrives early Monday slamming the door on balmy weather. Skies become cloudy tonight and rain arrives around or after midnight.
Rain continues into Monday morning, tapering off by afternoon. High temperatures Monday will be at sunrise with steady or falling temperatures to follow. Clearing skies commence late Monday. Expect a blustery start to March.
Cool high pressure digs in Tuesday, but the next low will move across the Southeast Wednesday. Clouds return Tuesday night and rain begins late Tuesday night lasting into Wednesday.
Thursday has mostly clear skies with seasonably cool temperatures. Chillier air gradually arrives Friday and Saturday. We'll keep an eye on low pressure in the Gulf Friday (looks too far south for mischief here but a suspicious eye is warranted). Then a secondary cold front moves through Saturday with even colder air in tow.
